He and Thelma had spent 3 to 4 months every year fishing Lake Michigan and living in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He had also managed the Izaak Walton League trap shoots for several years and been active in the Big Brothers program. He loved fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. Don is survived by his children, Mary (Joe) Marcov of Dubuque, IA, Donald "Butch" (Julie) Davis, Jr. of Eldridge, IA, Ronald (Sue) Davis of Davenport, IA, Nancy (Dave) Moore of Maquoketa, IA and David (Carla) Davis of Toronto, IA; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; 3 sisters, Maxine Easton of Bettendorf, IA, Joyce Timmins of Maquoketa, IA and Darlene Kirchhoff of Maquoketa, IA; and a sister-in-law, Carol Davis of Maquoketa, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Thelma on May 5, 2007, children, Clinton Nelson Davis and Connie Sue Davis Kubicek, brothers, Robert Davis and Kenneth Davis on July 29, 2010, and a grandson, Joshua Benjamin Davis on September 2, 2004. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Donald S. "Don" Davis, Sr. memorial fund has been established.
