Alta E. Schroeder

MADISON/STOUGHTON-Alta E. Schroeder (nee Schenkel), loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at Agrace HospiceCare, on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at the age of 85.  She lived most of her life in the Madison/Stoughton area after growing up in the Dodgeville area.  Alta is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Alfred "Dick"; daughter, Pam (Jim O'Brien); sons, Rick (Jean Wisener-Schroeder) and Rob; grandchildren, Riley (Allison) and Hilary (Joe Daufenbach); great-grandchildren, Parker and Decker; sisters, Kitty Buske and Orpha Bock; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lyda Schenkel; sister, Loni Hewitt; and many in-laws.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Rick and Jean Schroeder in Madison on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., with a Manhattan toast at 1 p.m.  Guests may feel free to dress in their favorite Badgers attire.
