or Bunn-0-matic before taking over his father's machine shop. In 2004 Phil met the love of his life Alma. They were married in 2008 and inherited two more daughters, Jeanie & Melissa; two sons Chad & Jason and grandchildren Alex, Aly, Terry Chans, Kambel, Averi, Kaydence and Lillian.
Phil and Alma shared their life to the fullest. Racing, dancing, laughing, and enjoying their family and a cold PBR. In 2013 Phil proudly walked his daughter Amanda down the aisle to marry Stewart Alderson. Amanda & Stewart presented Phil with the apple of his eye, granddaughter McKenna in 2015.
Phil's love of life was evident to everyone he met. He was always positive and happy, his smile was contagious and he had enough love in his heart to fill an ocean. At the time of Phil's passing he was contracted with the U.S. Postal Service to transport mail to rural post offices and enjoyed every minute of time he spent visiting with the postmasters and the residents of Southwest Iowa. Phil Swanson was the type of friend everyone should have.
The impact of his absence will be felt by many: His wife, children, grandchildren and Mother; Brother, Mike (Tami); Nieces, Ashley (Matt) and Alicia; Nephew, Jesse; Aunt & Uncle Carolyn & Gary and many cousins.
Phil was welcomed to his heavenly home by his Father, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends who preceded him.
