Mary Dague, 87, of Brainerd, Minnesota, and formerly of Jackson County, died on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at her home, surrounded by five generations of her family. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 P.M., Monday, January 3, 2011, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. Service Time on Monday, January 3, 2011, from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa, Iowa. Burial will be at the Bridgeport Cemetery, rural Maquoketa, Iowa, at a later date. Mary Gibson was born on July 25, 1923 in Jackson County, Iowa, to Howard J. and Opal A. (Elliot) Gibson. She was united in marriage to Eldon Dague on February 21, 1948 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. He preceded her in death. Mary was very accomplished at quilt making and donated many of her quilts. She also made Christmas stockings and donated them to the Lincoln Education Center. Mary enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon, three children, John Council, Leonard Wayne Council and Rick Dague, six brothers and two sisters.
