Virginia "Ginny" Fry

Virginia (Ginny) M. Fry, 62, of West Burlington, passed away at 11:24 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born March 7, 1948 she was the daughter of Herbert E. and Edith M. (McLaughlin) Beckman. On January 28, 1967 she married Ned H. Fry. Ginny worked at Sylvania, General Electric, Farm King and Doran and Ward Printing Co. She was a Christian, loved and supported St. Paul United Church of Christ. Ginny loved her family, loved reading and vacationing in the Rocky Mountain West. She was in awe of Native American creativity and craftsmanship, and was proud of her Irish heritage. She treasured her friends from school, work, the National Guard and the racing community. Survivors include, her husband, Ned Fry of West Burlington; two daughters, Wendy (Eric) Palmer of Burlington and Tisha Fry of Iowa City; two grandchildren, Niamh Palmer and Brayten Wagler; four sisters, Aileen (Richard) Osborn of Burlington, Jeanie (John) Dills of Rolla, Missouri, Marilyn Jacobson of St. Peters, Missouri and Erma (Leon) Harris of West Point, Iowa; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. ay, January 9, 2011 in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Family Memorial Service for Ginny will be held 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011 in St. Paul United Church of Christ. The Rev. Mark Schowalter will officiate. According to Ginny's wishes cremation has been accorded. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Paul United Church of Christ.
