Leone Salisbury was born at Titonka, Iowa on December 31, 1905 to John and Ella (Peterson) Briggs.
After her schooling, she worked as a telephone operator in Algona and Burt where she was remembered for her courteous and efficient service.
Leone was married to Howard Salisbury on December 14, 1926, at the Good Hope Parsonage by Rev. Allen Woods who had married her parents in 1903, at Titonka. They farmed in the Burt area until 1968, when they moved to their home in Burt.
Leone was a member of the Burt Methodist Church and U.M.W. She enjoyed knitting booties for the newborn babies and afghans for the family. Many of her friends received crocheted doilies from her. One of her favorite pastimes was playing bridge with four of her special friends: Benita Mitchell, Esther Sorenson, Vera Bradley and Jane Scott.
Leone became a resident of the Algona Manor Care Center in 2007, and died there on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at the age of 105.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, her parents, three brothers, Alvin (Soup) Briggs, Bernard (Bud) Briggs and Dale Briggs and two sisters, Bernice (Sally) and Leila Mae.
