e telephone. On a special 4th of July, he appreciated the beauty of the lightning bugs on his farm. He appreciated just sitting in a beautiful spot, or listening to his children sing around a camp fire. He could usually serve up reality in a gentle and practical way. He was a good cook and enjoyed LaVonne's baking. He chose to stay near his beloved wife until after her death in 2009. He was her knight in shining armor and it was a role he cherished. Late in 2010, he moved to Minneapolis to be cared for in the VA system and to be more accessible to his daughters. He passed away after a long recovery from an acute gall bladder attack. He is survived by his three daughters; Maria Johnson of Lakeville, MN, Deanna Bennett of Phoenix, AZ and Janel Bennett of Parker, CO. He is also survived by his five sisters; Veva Stevens of Roseville, MN, Willa Muir of Windom, Adella Espelien of St. Cloud, MN, Phyllis Buck of Denver, CO and Margaret Greig of Saratoga, CA. He is also survived by five of his brothers; Lyle Bennett of Windom, MN, Wayne Bennett of Windom, MN, Orlo Bennett of Lakefield, MN, Warren Bennett of Columbia, MO, Ray Bennett of Colorado Springs, CO. He leaves five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Chet is preceded in death by his parents, his wife LaVonne Bennett, two infant sons and an infant daughter and his brothers Roy Bennett Jr, Earle Bennett and Glen Bennett.
