Lakota - LaVonne Olson-Fees, 69, Des Moines, formerly of Lakota, died Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at her residence in Des Moines. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 108 4th Street, Lakota, with the Reverend Marino Melsted officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Lakota. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Bancroft, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. LaVonne Mae Olson-Fees was born September 26, 1936 in Swea City, daughter of Walter and Ethel (Senenfelder) Lunn. She grew up in the Lakota area graduating from Lakota High School in 1954. LaVonne was married to Richard McGillivray and together they had two sons, Rodney and Perry. She later married Richard Olson and together they had two sons, Dan and Michael. While living in Lakota, LaVonne owned and operated Olson's Café in which she enjoyed visiting with people. Moines and enjoyed spending the winters in Texas. She is survived by her husband, Frank Fees of Des Moines; three sons, Rodney McGillivray and his wife Gia of Chattanooga, TN, Dan Olson and his wife Jo Ann of Clive, and Michael Olson and his wife Nancy of Johnston; seven grandchildren; four step-children, Patty, Ricky, Jimmy, and Frank; one sister, Mary Ann Krominga and her husband Roger of Sun City, AZ; two brothers Gerald Lunn and his wife Debbie of Houston, TX and Ed Lunn and his wife Mary of Stewartville, MN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son Perry McGillivray on January 11, 1990.
