Michael Eugene Wathen, age 61, of Knoxville, IA passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Monday, October 9, 2017.
Michael was employed most of his life as a warehouseman for various companies including Motorola and Des Moines Bolt. He was a long time resident of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa before moving to Knoxville in 2009.
Michael is survived by his daughters; Lauren (Dane) Petersen of Tipton, IA, Alexandra Wathen (Kirk Czyzewicz) of Fitchburg, WI; two grandsons, Evan and Jacob Petersen; two brothers, Patrick (Joyce) Wathen of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Tim (Nancy) Wathen, Las Vegas; two sisters, Jan (David) Kurtz of Oskaloosa, IA, and Gale (Chris) Bittle of Mt. Pleasant, IA. He is also survived by two nephews, four nieces, three great-nephews and two great-nieces.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents Mary L. Wathen of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Harold S. Wathen of Ft. Madison, IA and one sister at birth, Stephanie.
