Charlotte Reed

Charlotte Reed, 92, of Waterloo, died at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Wednesday, October 11, 2017.   Charlotte Mae Runyan was born August 21, 1925, in La Porte City, the daughter of Clare and M. Margaret Allen Runyan.  She graduated from University of Northern Iowa's Price Lab School in 1944.    Charlotte married Jack E. Reed January 11, 1944 in Cedar Falls. She worked for Black's Department Store for 25 years until its closing and then at Walden Photo for 7 years.   Charlotte and Jack enjoyed with their family the cabin on the Cedar River near Brinker Lake - and the boating and fishing, their fishing trips to Canada, winters in Florida and Texas, square dancing, grandchildren's sports and activities, and her Black's Retirees group. She was a strong person with a strong love for her family.                     Survivors include: her husband Jack; son Clare (Karen) Reed of Waterloo; daughter Susan (Rod) Baker of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Staci (Sean) Matchan and their son Kylie, Jason Reed and his children Gavin and Kadyn, Dustin (Sonja) Malenar and their children Genevieve and Athena, and Brett (Bella) Malenar and their son Reese.   ...[more]
