Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Meilinger, age 92, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017. She was born March 18, 1925, in Cleveland, Ohio to Charles and Louise Maurer, and she married Herman Joseph Meilinger on July 16, 1947 in Grand Haven. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2012.
Betty was a member of St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church. She loved cooking, arts and crafts, helping children as a volunteer, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her four children: Herman (Karen) Meilinger, Jr. of Grand Rapids, Peter (Linda) Meilinger of Fruitport, Mary (Stephan) DeWitt of Empire, and Chris (Robin) Meilinger of San Antonio, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ernestine Maurer of Grand Haven. She was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Michael Meilinger, I; her sister, Martha Latiak, and two brothers, Charles and John Maurer.
