She was a longtime award winning bowler and loved water sports such as swimming, fishing, skiing, and boating. She enjoyed dancing and was an accomplished player of various types of board games. She played various sports including softball and tennis and enjoyed traveling and camping. She loved people and excelled as wife, mother of four children and two step-children; grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of three. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by step-mother: Lovie Estelle Burroughs McGraw and brother: Thad Kell McGraw. Surviving are husband: Reverend Charles Hughes, son: Joel Edward Williams, Jr. of Guntersville, AL, daughters: Patti Yvonne Williams (Burt) Carter of Plains, GA, Charissa Ann Williams Paulson of Porter, TX and Kheanne Elizabeth Williams (Robert) Fontaine of Christiana, TN, step-son: Guy Milton Hughes of Schertz, TX, brother: David Reid (Libby) McGraw of Mableton, GA, sister: Merle Williams of Guntersville, AL, sister-in-law: Jean McGraw of Winston, GA, aunts: Rosa Lee Hudson of Winchester, TN and Pauline Jones of Boone, NC; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the Goshen Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Williams Cove Road in Winchester with the Rev. Dr. Michael Clark, assisted by Mr. Phil Cleek officiating. Serving as honorary minister is the Rev. Dr. Jonathan Clark. Interment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens, Winchester, TN.
