Von Douglas Maxwell

Von Douglas Maxwell, age 58 of Decherd, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, he was born on July 6, 1958. Von Douglas grew up on a dairy farm and later became a Building Contractor. He loved NASCAR and had a big heart, always doing for others. Von Douglas is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Benson Maxwell. He is survived by his wife, Angela Swafford Maxwell of Decherd; sons, Eric Maxwell and Heath Maxwell, both of Franklin County; step-children, Chance (Heather) Pickett of Decherd, and Ashlyn Pickett of California; grandchildren, Kingston, Princeton, and Keaton Maxwell; step-grandchildren, Olivia and Brantley Pickett; father, George Winston Maxwell Jr; sister, Gail (Dwight) Wagner of Belvidere; brother, Ronnie (Dianne) Maxwell of Belvidere; mother-in-law, Dorothy Swafford of Huntland; two nephews; two great-nephews; his beloved yorkie, Millie Mae and special friends, Jim and Kim Mook. Visitation will be from 12 PM-2 PM Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
