Mabel Ashley

Mabel Ashley, age 94 of Cowan, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 21, 1922 in Franklin County to the late Kelly Ashley and Mandy Bell Sanders Ashley. She retired from Genesco in 1979 and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Cowan since 1966. She enjoyed keeping babies in the nursery and did that for many years. She loved her family very much and she loved her church family as well. She never met a stranger or anyone whom she didnt love. She had a special place in her heart for all babies. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, sewing and helping others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horton Ashley; daughters, Gail Ashley and Jeanette Livingston; great-grandson, Jeremy Partin; and siblings, Edith, Lawrence, Raven and Geraldine. Survivors include her daughter, Catherine (R. L.)
