Jim McCulley, 59, of Afton, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at his home. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Powers Funeral Home in Afton. Burial will be held privately at Oakland Cemetery in Shannon City. Memorials are to the family. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com.
James Alan McCulley was born on August 11, 1958 in Ottumwa, Iowa, a son to Joan LaNell Hawker and Bob McCulley. He was educated in the East Union Schools and graduated from there in 1976. Jim attended SWCC and completed courses while there.
Following his schooling, Jim moved to Osceola where he worked at a TV shop as a repairman. He then moved to Shannon City to help his parents and then moved to his home in Afton. While in Afton, Jim worked at Heat Tech until its closing when he began helping at Wes Gilbert's Salvage in Shannon City.
