Obituary of Donald Lewis

Donald Lewis, 82, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at his home.    Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Interment will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemtery  with  military rites  by the combined units of the V.F.W. Post 1565 and the American Legion Post #27.  Visitation for Donald will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2017,  from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home for the Muscatine Humane Society in Donald's name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

 

Donald Edward Lewis was born on October 19, 1935, in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Wilbert Spencer and Alma Marie (Hindbaugh) Lewis.  Donald served his country in the United State Air Force.  On June 14, 1958, Donald was united in marriage to Evelyn L. Donald will be deeply missed by his wife, Evelyn; children, Kenneth (Rose) Carpenter of Muscatine, Susan (Marty) Hills of Fruitland, IA and Teresa (John) Goode of Blue Grass; nine grandchildren, Kendra Lee, Brandon Lessenger, Karrie Roby, Erin McConnaha, Kamella Harris, Nichelle Drake, Hilary Holmes, Kali Hills and Brode Hills; twenty-four great-grandchild; brother John Lewis of Muscatine and sister, Delores Curtis of Muscatine.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; Alfred, Roy, Charles, Russell and Delmar Lewis and one sister, Viola Martin.
