Sterling S. Bushnell Jr., age 92, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 in Muskegon as a result of injuries suffered in a car accident. He was born in New York City on March 31, 1925 to Sterling Sr. and Marian (Lawton) Bushnell. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 1943 and from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he was in the U.S.N.R. V12 Program, in 1946. He married the former Greta Moore on June 25, 1955, and together they had four children. Sterling spent his career as an engineer and worked at Breneman/Hartshorn and Misco/Howmet, from where he retired. Sterling had a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, with a genuine curiosity of any and all subjects. His passion for travel and cuisine was passed down to both his children and grandchildren. Sterling understood the importance of community and the arts, and was often seen socializing at the many events Muskegon had to offer (especially if they were free!).
