Mary Veronica Doody
Mary Veronica Doody, of Maple Glen, PA, formerly of Cresskill, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, November 5, 2017. She was 84 years old. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Mary is the daughter of the late Harold and Anna (nee Shannon) Derby. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband Douglas in 2011. Prior to moving to Maple Glen, Mary worked as the school secretary for the Saint Therese School in Cresskill, NJ where she and Douglas were parishioners. She was a faithful parishioner at Saint Alphonsus Parish, serving as a lector and volunteer in the rectory. Mary was the Treasurer and a volunteer for the Beulah Hankele Blind Group of the Hatboro/Montgomery County Association for the Blind. She was active in the St. Alphonsus Senior's group and a duplicate bridge player. Mary never missed her Thursday afternoon bowling. Mary is the devoted mother of Karen D. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler and on Wednesday, November 8th from 1:00 to 1:30 PM at St. Alphonsus Church, 1565 Temple Drive, Maple Glen, PA. Mary's Funeral Mass will be at 1:30 PM with Rev. Quan M.Trinh as celebrant and Deacon John J. Mischler assisting. Interment will be in St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
