Dolores Martinez

Dolores F. 'Lola' Martinez, 80, passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 5, 2017 in Erie, CO.

She was born May 16, 1937 in Walsenburg, Colorado to Lazero and Della (Cordova) Armijo.

On March 19, 1952 she married Philip J. Martinez. They moved to Erie, CO in 1967 from Walsenburg. Lola returned to Walsenburg in 2012, moving to Greeley in 2016.

She had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Catholic Church.

Lola enjoyed reading, watching western movies, doing puzzles, sewing, embroidery and quilting. She made a quilt of each of her 9 children.

She was preceded in death by her husband Philip, son Efrem, daughter Dorrinda and two sisters Josephine Martinez and Louise Maes.

Lola is survived by her children Phyllis Florez and husband Fernando, Rosie Jaramillo and husband Joe, Rick Martinez, Burt Martinez and wife Terry, Brenda Martinez, Jeff Martinez and wife Janell, and Bonny Martinez and wife Angie; 25 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 12 great great-grandchildren.

Saturday November 11, 2017 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Dinner at 5:00 p.m. at New Horizons Christian Church, 701 Carbondale Dr. Dacono, CO.
