Donald Omar Nold, 82, of Waterloo, Iowa died at Covenant Medical Center on Sunday, November 12, 2017.   He was born June 29, 1935 in Onaka, South Dakota, the son of Leo and Katherine Trefz Nold.   He graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1953 where he had been elected class president; Don also attended the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, South Dakota.   Don married Evelyn Moline on November 15, 1958 at United Brethren Church in Lansing, Iowa.   He was employed by Peter Kiewit & Sons out of Omaha for 7 years working in 12 different towns across 4 states; then he moved to Waterloo and worked for Brice, Petrides and Associates, Inc., for 31 years retiring in 1998 as Head of Construction-related services.  High points in his career were designing and building the 5th St. Bridge and the Sara Lee plant in New Hampton from its inception.   Don was a member of member of Cedar Valley Community Church and enjoyed wood working hobbies and playing solitaire. He was a regular attender of Morg's Diner.
