Bernice D. Frommelt, at the age of 95, of Dubuque, IA, died peacefully at
her home in the early morning hours of Thursday, November 16, 2017.To celebrate Bernice's life, family and friends may visit from
1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Behr Funeral Home,
1491 Main Street.Bernice was born on July 3, 1922, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Royal
and Gertrude (Smith) Kranich.She was married to Andrew Frommelt on April 24, 1948, in Dubuque, IA, and,
during their happy marriage of 69 years they were blessed with two
children, Alan and Gayle.Bernice worked at the General Dry Battery Factory in Dubuque for over ten
years, during the 1940s and 50s, and thereafter worked with her husband, as
he rose to Majority Leader of the State Senate, in his many political
campaigns and interests, and to raise a family, and in their business Andy

those who knew her, her sweetness, her great care and spirit, will be
cherished for all our lives, and passed on, as the best of life, and what
we will know in who we love; among them her children, Alan Frommelt, of
Dubuque, IA, and Gayle Guilliams, of Louisville, TN; 5 grandchildren,
4 great grandchildren and her sister-in-law, Bernice (Karl) Frommelt, of Dubuque, IA.Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband,
Andrew "Andy" Frommelt; her sister, Beatrice (Leon "Barney") Gabriel of
Dubuque, IA; and her brother, Donald (Shirley) Kranich, of Sacramento,
California.Bernice's family would like to extend their sincere and deeply felt
appreciation, and great regard, to her caretaker and friend Linda Klar, and
to Dawn and the wonderful nurses and staff of Hospice of Dubuque, for their
kind and compassionate care of Bernice, and her family, who together were
able to make her last days as pleasant, and as warm and loving as we could
have ever imagined.After her long illness the final months of her time with us were a blessing
