Esther Walker

Esther Carrollina Walker, 95, of Keokuk died Sunday, August 24, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. at the Keokuk Nursing Center in Keokuk, Iowa. Esther Walker was born on July 10, 1908 in Keokuk, the daughter of Lawrence and Josephine Berity Fletcher. She married William Marshall Walker on September 3, 1927 in Keokuk. He preceded her in death on December 19, 1960. She had lived in Keokuk most of her life and before her marriage was employed at the Huiskamp Shoe Factory in production. She enjoyed crocheting lace edgings on pillowcases and tablecloths. She enjoyed watching boxing and wrestling on television. She was of the Protestant faith. Survivors include a son, William "Bill" Walker of Keokuk; four daughters, Mary Rankin of Keokuk, Catherine Moore and her husband, Frank, of LaGrange, Missouri,Priscilla Walker of Keokuk and Sandra J. Walker of Keokuk; many grandchildren; d two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Ralph and Elmer Walker; a sister, Mary Crowell; and a brother, Ed Fletcher.
