Iona P. King, of Carmel, passed away peacefully at home November 24, 2017. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 10, 1931 to Cornelius and Erma(Campbell) Patton.
She was married to David E. King, Sr. on November 27, 1950. Survivors include her children, David(Karen) King, Jr., Cathy(Ron Harris) Robison, Marilyn(Mark) Kercheval, Melissa (Fred) Taylor, and Claudia King; daughter -in- law Laurie King; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; sister, Louise Robinson, brother, Herb Patton; many nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Richard Patton, Wilbur Patton, John Patton, and James Lee Patton, sisters Henrietta Patton, Betty Patton and Norma Jean Wilson, son Daniel King, and granddaughter Rachel Kercheval.
Iona was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Calling will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 4-8 PM at Leppert Mortuary - Smith Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Rd., Carmel, IN. There will be an Eastern Star service Monday evening at 7:30 PM. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 10:30 AM in Leppert Mortuary - Smith Carmel Chapel.
