Marion "Mike" G. Olson, 92, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Eldora Specialty Care in Eldora, Iowa. Funeral services for Marion Olson will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the First Baptist Church; 521 Rocksylvania Ave.; Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. There will be a time of story telling and memories from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Linn's Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Falls. Marion "Mike" Geraldean Olson was born January 12, 1925 in Roland, Iowa to Obert and Maye J. [Simonson] Olson. He attended school until the 8th grade, and afterwards he worked on the family farm. Mike enlisted in the United States Army during World War II, staying in for a few years. After returning from the war he met Gladys M. Hansen at the skating rink north of Iowa Falls. Later he was united in marriage to her on March 27, 1949 in Iowa Falls, Iowa. To this union three children were born: Michael, Ramona, and Tyler. as a prep operator for almost 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Hymen-Peavey Post #188 in Iowa Falls. Mike was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Iowa Falls, and eventually a Deacon. Marion Geraldean Olson is survived by his three children: Michael [Le Ann] Olson of Iowa Falls, Iowa, Ramona [Derek] Zinkhon of Gainesville, Georgia, and Tyler Olson of Iowa Falls; five brothers and sisters: Paul [Berlene] Olson of Webster City, Iowa, Ruth Dickerson of Carrollton, Texas, Lois Johnson of Story City, Iowa, Shirley [Allen] Dee of State Center, Iowa, and Linda [Merril] Flett of Webster City; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Mike Olson was preceded in death by his parents: Obert and Maye Olson, his wife: Gladys Olson, one brother: Harlan Olson, and one sister: Ramona Olson.
