William "Bill" Brockhaus

Mass of Christian Burial for William "Bill" Brockhaus, age 83, of South Sioux City, Nebraska will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017, at St. Michael`s Catholic Church in South Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and American Legion Riders. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mohr Funeral Home in South Sioux City, with a Parish Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton, Nebraska is assisting with arrangements. Bill died Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City. William J. "Bill" Brockhaus was born October 5, 1934, in Madison, Nebraska, the son of Dr. John F. and Cecelia (Steffes) Brockhaus. He attended school and graduated from Madison High School in 1953. Bill continued his education at Norfolk Junior College. He joined the United States Army in 1955, and served in Fairbanks, Alaska. Bill was honorably discharged in 1957, and moved to Sioux City, Iowa. He married Glenna Edwards March 10, 1999, in Omaha, Nebraska. He is survived by his wife, Glenna of South Sioux City, Nebraska; nine sons, Mike, Steve, Dennis, Pat, Marty, Matt, Chad, Stan, and Shane; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Brockhaus; and a sister, Marilyn Peters. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Reed; and two brothers, Bob and Gerry. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the family.
