     Phyllis York, 92, of Iowa Falls, Iowa passed away Tuesday November 28, 2017 at the Hansen Family Hospital of Iowa Falls. Memorial services for Phyllis York will be 11:00 am Saturday December 2, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church; 619 Main St.: Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126. Visitation and fellowship will be from 12:00 until 1:30 pm Saturday December 2, 2017 also at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls. The Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls is helping the family with arrangements.     Phyllis Martin was born on May 7, 1925 in What Cheer, Iowa at the home of her parents, Hugh Taylor and Regina [Cuddihy] Martin. She graduated from the What Cheer High School in 1942. She later attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. On November 5, 1948 Phyllis was united in marriage to Philip Edward York, and to this union four daughters were born: Christie, Allison, and twins: Merry and Faye. During most of her life she was a homemaker, however she did spend some time working at Ellsworth Community College at the Library. When she wasn't reading books she was an avid bird watcher.     Phyllis Jane York has left these to cherish her memories: three daughters: Allison [John Schmidt] York of Iowa City, Iowa, Merry [Mark] Oelmann of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and Faye [Mike] Broer of Iowa Falls, Iowa; two sisters and a brother: Julia Ogden of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Irene Robinson of Aitkin, Minnesota, and Paul [Pat] Martin of Spencer, Iowa; five grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Phyllis York was preceded in death by her parents: Hugh and Regina Martin; three sisters: Margaret Moore, Dorothy Clutter, and Ruth White; one brother: Leo Martin; one daughter Christie York; and one grandson in infancy: William Oelmann.
