Glenna "Lois" Wrieden 78, formerly of Keokuk, died at 1:23 PM Friday, May 6, 2005, at her daughter's home in Luray, Missouri. Glenna was born October 30, 1926 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of John William and Theresa Ada Wilson Howell. She married Francis Wrieden on September 20, 1942 in Alexandria, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1985. She lived in Keokuk for 43 years and moved to Luray in February 1997. She had been employed by Swift & Company and since 1985 had worked at New Florence Nursing Home in New Florence, Missouri. She was baptized at First Baptist Church in Carthage, Illinois and was a member of the Lutheran Church in Jonesburg, Missouri. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and cooking but she enjoyed her grandchildren the most. She is survived by twelve children, Francis "Butch Wrieden and his wife, Mary, of Keokuk, Sharon Duncan and her husband, Daniel, of Montrose, Iowa, John H. Wrieden and his wife, Sheldia, of Keokuk, Leonard L. Wrieden and RaeAnne of Keokuk, Michael Wrieden and Robine of Quincy, Illinois, James Danny Wrieden and Diana of Keokuk and Charles Lynn Wrieden and his wife, Tracy L., of Keokuk; two brothers, Henry Howell and his wife, Gwen, of Grove City, Ohio and Francis Howell and his wife, Jackie, of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Faye Gipe of Mesquite, Texas; 40 grandchildren; 75 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers, Chuck, Everett, Pete, John, William and Edward; six sisters, Dorothy, Grace, Winnie, Jenny, Elizabeth and Loraine; and six grandchildren, Patricia Lois Wrieden, Bobby Jo Wrieden, Daniel Wrieden, Ronald and Donald Wrieden, and Brendon Robinson. Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at DeJong's Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Duncan officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
