Pete is survived by his devoted wife, Sue (Laufenberg) and his children, Chad (fiancé Tracy Winters) Roscoe IL and Carrie (Mike) Meier Waunakee; and his two grandchildren, Lexi and Kamryn Meier. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, Joe (Pidge) Meffert, Jim (Linda) Meffert, Jack (Marilyn) Meffert, and Cheryl (Russ) Wipperfurth; father-in-Law, Anthony Laufenberg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony (Vicky) Laufenberg, Carol (Randy) Zander, Tim (Renee) Laufenberg, Tom (Theresa) Laufenberg, Ted (Bridget) Laufenberg, Alice (Dan) Allen, Joyce (Wayne) Knapton, Mary (Steve) Millin, Linda (Todd) Meffert and Todd (Darlene) Laufenberg; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Martha Meffert; mother-in-law, Alyce Laufenberg; and sisters and brothers-in- law, Mary Ann (Patrick) Boyle, Joan (Punk) Deans, and Bernice (Zeke) Zeman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, 209 South St., Waunakee. Msgr James Gunn will officiate. Friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 Hwy Q, Waunakee. Friends may also call at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. A reception will follow at Rex's Innkeeper in Waunakee.
The family would especially like to thank Dr. Ranum for his knowledge and attentive care for Pete, the staff at Sienna Crest Waunakee for their years of love and patience and the staff with Agrace Hospice for their skill and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Agrace Hospice or St. Johns Catholic School.
