Robert Vincent "Bob" Land, 71, of Alexandria, Missouri, died at 6:35 AM Tuesday, January 02, 2007, at Lexington Square in Keokuk, Iowa. Mr. Land was born February 13, 1935, in Powdertown, Iowa, the son of Thomas A. and Veda L. Fickel Land. He was a lifelong resident of the Alexandria and Keokuk area. He married Marilyn J. Wright on December 25, 1957 at Alexandria Presbyterian Church in Alexandria, Missouri. He served stateside duty in the United States Army. Since 1960, he owned and operated Bob Land Station in Alexandria. His love and passion was running the station. He was a member of Alexandria Presbyterian Church; Keokuk Lodge #106, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; and the Keokuk Eagles Club. He enjoyed sports, including bowling, boating, baseball, and golf. He was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Land, who was with him daily during his stay at Lexington Square; three daughters, Lanea Zimmerman and her husband, Larry, of Keokuk, Iowa, Sheri Armstrong of Burlington, Iowa and Janie Hawkins and her husband, Stacy, of Kahoka, Missouri; grandchildren, Luke Zimmerman; Brittanie and Austen Armstrong; Corby...[more]

wkins and his fiancé, Hilary; Kayla and Kendall Hawkins; a great granddaughter, Adessa Brandenburg; three brothers, Melvin Land and his wife, Mary, of Montrose, Iowa, Charles Land and his wife, Vye, of Powdertown, Iowa and Edward Land and his wife, Jean, of Powdertown, Iowa; his twin sister, Deanie Miller of Keokuk, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert F. "Bobby" Land in 1979; a brother, Thomas K. Land and his wife, Lila; and a brother-in-law, Corky Miller. Funeral services were held at 11:00 Friday, January 5, 2007, at Alexandria Presbyterian Church with Dr. David Castrodale officiating. Burial with full military rites followed at Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Lee County Hospice or to Lexington Square for the enhancement of the patio area. He appreciated the love and care he received at Lexington Square.
