Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Robin (Jeff) Sanford and Lisa Cox (Sid Turner), both of Dubuque; two granddaughters, Sara Sanford of Atlanta, GA and Amy Sanford Smith and great grandson, Steven J. Smith of Marion, IA; two brothers-in-law, Emil Hoffmann of Dubuque and Otis Winkelman, Charlotte, North Carolina; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law Jacqueline and Gerald Herburger; sisters, Beverly Winkelman and Betty Hoffmann; and her son in law, David Cox.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Andrea Ries (and staff) who cared for Sandy for many years; Rev. Jonathan Crawford; and Hospice of Dubuque staff: Jennifer F., Katie, Barb and Shirley, who provided urgent services and support to the family in Sandy's last hours.
