Donald Dwayne Driscoll, 87, of Waterloo, died Friday, December 15, at UnityPoint Health Allen Memorial Hospital. He was born February 14, 1930, in Waterloo, the son of Vincent P. and Amelia "Molly" Klein Driscoll. He married Jan Rowzee on June 6, 1960 in Waterloo and she died May 17, 2009. Dwayne served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was employed as a roofer for Fuller Roof and Service Roofing retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Gilbertville American Legion Nugent Demuth Post 714 and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Survivors include: his children; Dawn (Kevin) Boyle of Cedar Falls, Mark (Coleen) Driscoll of Waterloo, Andrea (Phil) Marlow of Grimes, and Sue (Ron) Poock of Waverly; eleven grandchildren, Shannon Boyle, Brooke Boyle, Tara Newell, Justin (Britta) Driscoll, Shawna Driscoll, Bryan Driscoll, Megan (Charlie) Manning, Lauren Marlow, Jen (Josh) Renner, Allison Poock, and Cassie Poock; four great-grandchildren, Clay and Evangeline Renner, Jamieson and Jeremiah Driscoll; three sisters, Miriam (Earl) Steimel of Eagle Center, Gert Hogan of Washburn, and Sherry (Bill) Kohl of Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law, Wayne Fox of Waterloo; a siste...[more]

Preceded in death by: his brother's, Bud (Gladys) Driscoll and Mike Driscoll; his sister's, Arlene (Bob) Steimel, Gloria (Augie) Girsch, Donna (Jim) Condon, and Lynne Fox; a brother-in-law, Charlie Hogan; a sister-in-law, Connie Driscoll. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Gilbertville American Legion Nugent Demuth Post 714, assisted by the Naval Honor Guard. Public visitation from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street where there will be a 4 p.m. Legion of Mary rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials: may be directed to UnityPoint Hospice or Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Dwayne loved spending time with family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying 50 years on the Mississippi River in Harpers Ferry, IA.
