MATTHEW SKIPTONMUSCATINE, Iowa - Matthew Shane Skipton, 42, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic's.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2017, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Reverend Dan Baldwin of the Grace Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Tina for his children's education. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com
Matthew was born on February 10, 1975, in Iowa City, the son of Danny Ray and Cynthia Lynn Adams Skipton. He was a graduate of Muscatine High School, class of 1994. He married Tina Lee Gravelin on June 3, 2000, in Iowa City.

mbellished stories. Matt enjoyed watching his favorite shows; Shark Tank, Curse of Oak Island, Gold Rush, Cake Boss, and American Ninja Warriors. He was also even willing to watch General Hospital in order to spend time with his wife. Not wanting to be the center of attention, he preferred to watch his family and friends as they brought him the most joy.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Tina Skipton of Muscatine; his children all at home, Caitlin Marie Skipton and partner, Brett Reiner, Logan Matthew Skipton, and Addison Leigh Skipton; his parents, Danny Ray and Cynthia Lynn Skipton of Muscatine; one brother, Scott A. Skipton and partner, Angel Gibson, of Riverside; sister, Stephanie L. and husband Kumar Prashant of Connecticut; paternal grandma, Lorraine Skipton; maternal grandma, Margaret Darlene Adams; nieces and nephews, Chayten and Maya Prashant, Jade, Micaela, Lucas, and Colton Gravelin, and Lexie and Kaylee Skipton; and a great-niece, Nelielle Lynn Wilson
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandpa, Ernest G. Skipton; maternal grandpa, Lyndal L. Adams; and uncle, Bryan E. Adams.
