MARIAN E. GREGORY
Marian E. Gregory, 88, of Columbia City, IN passed away at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, December 03, 2013. Born on May 4, 1925 in Mooreland, she was the daughter of Harold H. and Sylvia S. (Scott) Gregory. Her family moved to the family farm in Etna Troy Township when she was a young girl, where she remained until moving into The Oaks in 2008. She graduated from Larwill High School in 1943. She then went to work immediately following graduation at REMC, retiring from there with more than 50yrs of service. She loved raising her sheep, and always had an endless amount of love for stray cats and dogs, saving any animal that was lucky enough to wander onto her farm.She enjoyed fishing, and even went to Canada one year with family to catch northern pike and walleye.Marian just loved being outside.She travelled the world visiting her sister and brother-in-law wherever he was stationed in the Army, and in later years, loved visiting them in New Mexico.She will also be remembered for her cooking, her love of life, and her encouragement of great-great nephews to try new things and to stick with them. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Trump and brother in law, Malcolm Trump. Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2013 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home with Rev. CurtissJohnson officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made toward Mrs. Gregory's final expenses, I.C.O. DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home.
