EARL STRICKLAND

Earl Strickland, age 60, of Columbia City, went home to be with the Lord at 4:52 p.m.Friday, December 20, 2013 at his residence.Born on April 7, 1953 in Loris, South Carolina, he was the son of Lester Hampton and Flauda (Todd) Strickland. In 1972 he married Vickie Fletcher in Columbia City.From 1984-2003 Earl worked as a property manager in Stuart, FL. North Carolina was then home until 2006, when he returned to Columbia City.He loved to deer hunt in addition to fishing at Big Lake, Gilbert Lake, and the ocean. Survivors include his wife Vickie of Columbia City; son Jason Strickland of Jensen Beach, FL; daughters Alicia Torres of Columbia City and Sara Strickland of Jensen Beach, FL; 6 grandchildren Marrisa, Blake, Brooke, Justin, Jonah, and Ava; great-granddaughter Ember Rose; aunt Linda Gressel of NC; and many other friends and relatives. Memorial visitation will be held on Monday December 23, 2013 from 11:00a.m.-1:00p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.A remembrance service for Earl will be held on Monday December 23, 2013 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
