Jeana R Pontzius

Jeana R. Pontzius, 46, of Larwill, Ind. passed away at 1:43 pm Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born on March 29, 1968 in Springfield, Ill., she was the daughter of Gary Louis and Margaret Rose (Campbell) Cox. Jeana was an area resident for most of her life and grew up at Lower Long Lake in Albion, before moving to Columbia City and most recently to Larwill. She attended Central Noble Schools. On June 22, 2012, she married John Pontzius in Columbia City. She was a certified nursing assistant and home health aide for several years. Later she was the owner and operator of Gordon Cleaning Company, which became Classic Cleaning Company. While operating her business, Jeana cleaned many local homes and businesses. She was a former member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #1906, Columbia City and a current member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #246, Albion. She also attended West Etna Community Church in Larwill.Jeana enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, tending to her exotic plants, going to the swap meet, collecting angels and christmas bears and all types of animals. son, Wayde Potter of Girard, Pa.; daughter, Tiairia Cox of Larwill; mother, Margaret Cox of Cromwell; sister, Tina Shultz of Albion; brothers, Gary (Karen) Cox of Ligonier, Tim (Deana) Cox of Florida and Shawn (Sherry) Cox of Ligonier; step-sons, John Pontzius of Columbia City and Storm Pontzius of South Whitley; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by father. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 from 2 to 4 P.M. at DeMoney-Grimes, a Life Story Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive.
