James M. Herron

James M. Jim Herron, 58, of Columbia City, Ind. passed away at 5:54 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at his residence.James was born on July 18, 1956 in Fort Wayne and was the son of Paul and Norma (Comer) Herron. James was a lifetime Whitley County resident and graduated from Columbia City High School with the Class of 1974. He also attended Kaplan University and received his Paralegal Certificate. James spent most of his working career as a machinist at United Technologies in Columbia City, Dana Corporation in Syracuse and Eaton-Clutch in Auburn. On August 9, 1986, he married Kathaleen Clem.He was also a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Union Township Fire Department and U.A.W. Local #164 in Auburn.His hobbies included riding his Harley, gardening and being a history buff. James is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Kathaleen of Columbia City; mother, Norma U. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Columbia City.
