Christine “Chris” Moore

Christine "Chris" Moore, 56, of Waterloo, died December 20, 2017 at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital.  Chris was born April 27, 1961 in Waterloo, the daughter of Rev. Willie T. and Fredine (Webster) Anderson. She graduated from Central High School in 1979.  She married Dennis Moore in May 31, 1980 at Antioch Baptist Church. Chris was a professional bus operator with MET for 11 years before becoming disabled. One of her most memorable recognitions was escorting Mayor Clark around the city on her bus. Chris was a foster parent for more than 15 years.  Chris accepted Christ at an early age on February 7, 1968 under the leadership of Rev. Eugene H. Williams and was baptized by Rev. Arthur E. Mills. She was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church until she became ill. She sang in and directed various choirs, served on the Mother's Board, Usher's Board, concert choir, the Cantatta, and was a deaconess. Chris was in Sunday School and taught children's classes in Sunday School. Dennis; four sons: Donterell, Dennis, Jr., Denterrio, and Dequondis, who she raised; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Denise Anderson of Georgia; and three brothers: Willie Anderson, Jr. of Waterloo, Terry (Diana) Anderson of Cedar Rapids, and Darryl (Chavonne) Anderson of Waterloo.
