Betty L. Shelton

Betty L. Shelton, 87, formerly of Princeville, passed away at 9:21 p.m., on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Kingman Regional Hospital in Kingman, Arizona. She was born on March 28, 1930, in Pekin, to Joseph and Louella (VonBoeckman) Breaden. They preceded her in death. She married Richard "Dick" Shelton on May 26, 1951, in Creve Coeur. He survives. Also surviving are two children, Dennis Shelton of Princeville and Rick Shelton of Bloomington; one sister, Shirley Tassart; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by one brother, James Breaden; three sisters, Helen Wright, Marilyn Breaden, and Mary Bright; and one grandchild, Heather Branch. Betty owned and operated Gil's for 10 years. She also worked at Stewarts in Trivoli from 1991 to 1996 and Shelton Electric for many years. Betty was also a member of the Farmington Moose. Dick and Betty have lived in Kingman, Arizona for the last six years, where she acquired many lasting friendships. Cremation rites have been accorded.
