Alice Ann Clemons
Alice A. Clemons was born July 16, 1924 to Jacob and Sarah (Andersen) Jorgensen of Harlan, IA. She graduated from Harlan High School with the class of 1942.
Alice married Vincent A. Clemons on February 18, 1948, at the Bethel Baptist Church in Harlan, IA. The couple lived on a farm outside of Kirkman, IA, after they were married until 1953 when they moved to a farm south of Harlan. In 1962 they moved to the family farm located 5 miles south of Irwin, IA. Alice and Vincent had three children; a daughter Carole and two sons, Larry and Dale.
Alice was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin, IA, where she was an active member of Circle and Ladies Aid up until her later years. Alice enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking and tending to her flowers. One of her favorite things was spending time with family and visiting with friends.
Alice passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2017, having obtained the age of 93 years, 5 months and 15 days.

She is survived by one daughter, Carole (Ron) Gaskill of North Liberty, IA.; one son, Dale Clemons of Kirkman, IA.; two daughters-in-law, DeEtte Clemons of Manilla, IA., and Ann Clemons of Harlan, IA.; ten grandchildren, Lori (Dale) Cavin of Solon, IA., Bryan (Amber) Gaskill of Keller, TX., Amy (Saul) Ayala of Denison, IA., Jennifer (Carlos) Chan of Denison, IA., Larry V. Clemons of Manilla, IA., Chris Clemons of Kirkman, IA., Sarah Clemons of Iowa City, IA., Karl Clemons of Kirkman, IA., Mike Clemons of Harlan, IA., and Caitlin Clemons of Harlan, IA.; 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
A private memorial service was held at the Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, with Pastor Ron Rasmussen of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Irwin, Iowa, officiating. Pastor Rasmussen also served as the musician. Burial of ashes was in the Danway Cemetery, Kirkman, Iowa. The Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, was in charge of the arrangements.
