JUDITH BUCKLEYMUSCATINE, Iowa - Judith 'Judy' M. Buckley, 79, of Muscatine, went to be with Jesus on Monday, January 1, 2018, surrounded by her family at Premier Estates.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 5, 2018, at St. Mathias Church. The Reverend Hai Dinh will officiate. Casket bearers will be George Griffith, Mikey Buckley, Frank Alberto, Zachary Martin, Jeremy DeVore, Dennis Reinier, and Phillip Brock. Burial will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. A Funeral Luncheon will be held at Gannon Hall following the committal service. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, with a Rosary Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Ss. Mary and Mathias Catholic School or Loaves and Fishes Meal Program. resident all of her life. She married Stanley Eugene Buckley on August 16, 1958, and they later divorced. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2004.
She had coached most of her girls on their softball teams, was a Cub Scout Pack leader, and was a member of the Ss Mary and Mathias Parish. She was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas - Joan of Arc Court No. 524. She enjoyed spending time with her classmates and was avid Cubs fan. She especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Mark Buckley of Clinton, Mike Buckley and wife, Sarah, of Muscatine, Barton Buckley of Muscatine, and Bret Buckley and wife, Tealetha, of St. James, Missouri, Julie Buckley of Jefferson City, Missouri, Jane Martin and husband, Tim, of Muscatine, Jill DeVore of Muscatine, Jackie Davis of Muscatine, and Jessica Brock and husband, Raymond, of Omaha, Nebraska; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Manuel Hernandez of Muscatine; and other kids, Jane Walker and husband, Jim, of Oskaloosa, and Zella Haskins of Muscatine.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Joan; two granddaughters, Analucia and Olivia; and three sisters, Carol Yerington, Janet Voelpel, and Barbara Wheeler.
