Howard Owen Oxley

Howard Owen Oxley, 46 of Nevada died on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at the Story County Medical Center in Nevada.  Memorial services will be held 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 1 at the First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, 250 West E Avenue in Nevada with Pastor Brice Hughes officiating. Owen was born on July 20, 1962 at the Story County Hospital in Nevada to Howard Ray and Wilma Jean (Wax) Oxley.  He was a 1982 graduate of Nevada High School.  Owen was employed at Perkins Restaurant in Ames until 2004.  He was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada and enjoyed collecting John Wayne memorabilia and antique cars. Owen is survived by his parents, Howard and Wilma Oxley; 2 brothers, Butch and Bruce Oxley, all of Nevada; 2 sisters, Jean Ann Shaw of Boone and Joy Page of Nevada. Owen was preceded in death by his grandparents and a half brother, Alfred Ray Oxley of Boone on January 17, 2008.
