Visitation for Kirby will take place Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., at the Joyce Funeral Home. A prayer service will follow the visitation on Sunday.
Kirby Lee Wilcox was born November 10, 1961 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the son of Max and Marlys (Peters) Wilcox. He attended Emmetsburg Community Schools.
After high school, Kirby had many odd jobs that he worked at including: He power washed for Cameron Knobloch, Charles Wirtz and Byron Fehr for many years. Due to health problems, he was forced to retire early.
Kirby enjoyed fishing with his nephew, Lonnie and collecting eagles. He was an avid Emmetsburg E-Hawk and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. He loved Pizza Ranch chicken, holidays and spending time with family. Kirby was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger.
On Friday, January 5, 2018, Kirby passed away at North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa.
Left to cherish his memory is his sister, Gloria (Glo) Mogler of Emmetsburg; a nephew, Justin Mogler (Danielle) of Estherville; two nieces: Heidi Mogler of Emmetsburg and Audrey Hansen (Lonnie) of Emmetsburg; great-nieces and nephew: Kaylee Froderman and Gianna Froderman of Estherville, Kiylee M...[more]
