Shirley Ann Myers

Shirley Ann (Durby) Myers, 86, of Nevada, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 3, at Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th St., in Nevada, with Pastor Myron Herzberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. Shirley was born Aug. 11, 1923, in Roland, to Peter and Lizzie (Lein) Durby. She graduated in 1943 from Nevada High School and farmed in the Nevada area her whole life. On Dec. 26, 1943, Shirley married Cecil Myers in Nevada. Shirley is survived by three daughters, Pamela (Bill) Howe, of Sun City, Ariz., Sherry (Larry) Bullock, of Ames, and Cindy (Larry) Meyers, of Maxwell; two sons, "Chub" (Chris) Myers and Tim (Diana) Myers, both of Nevada; 17 grandchildren; 21 great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on April 3, 2000, two sisters, one brother, and a great-granddaughter.
