Leonard R. Stubbs, 74, of Marshalltown, IA, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016, at Central Iowa Healthcare in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Anderson Funeral Home, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Anderson Funeral Home, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown. Stubbs, son of Ralph and Ada (Keese) Stubbs was born November 1, 1941 at Green Mountain, Iowa. He attended Green Mountain High School, graduating with the class of 1959. After high school, Leonard served his country in the United States Navy. He was married to Janet Dittman on June 22, 1969 in Muscatine, Iowa. To this union two children were born: Doug and Tim. shalltown VFW Post 839 and American Legion Post 46. After retiring he started volunteering and participated in several groups including the Marshalltown Mens Chorus, Flapjacks, and delivered for Meals on Wheels. He became quite active in the Marshalltown Noon Lions Club, where he helped with eye glasses donations. Leonard and Janet loved to travel and took several trips including: an Alaskan Cruise, trips to Disney World with Doug and Tim, Washington D.C. and annual trips to Branson, Missouri. Left to Cherish Leonards memory are his wife, Janet of Marshalltown, IA; sons, Doug (Seeta) Mangra-Stubbs of Des Moines, IA and Tim Stubbs of Ankeny, IA; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
