Geneva I. Robinson

Geneva Irene Robinson, 95, formerly of Gilman went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at Rock Ridge Care Center in Shellsburg on Saturday, June 10, 2017. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., June 14, 2017, at Anderson Funeral Homes, 405 W. Main St., Marshalltown, IA. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., until the time of the services, at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow lunch, at the Gilman Cemetery. Geneva was born on January 23, 1922 the daughter of Leslie Louis and Grace Elizabeth (Schultz) Powell in rural Unionville, MO. She graduated from Unionville High School. She married Marvin Harley Wood on December 18, 1988. Geneva lived in or near Gilman most of her adult life. She was a stay-at-home mom until her family was raised and the worked as a seamstress at DeLongs in Grinnell. She enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with family. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Gilman and was active in Sunday School and Womans Fellowship. on-in-law Ray Helland of Marshalltown, and 4 grandsons: Brad Helland of Bellevue, WA, Brian (Nancy) Helland of Urbandale, Greg Wood of Dysart, and John (Suzanne) Wood of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren. In addition to Marvin and Charles she was preceded in death by her brother Virgil of Unionville and her daughter Harlietta Helland of Marshalltown.
