and Marlyne bought the farm that had been in the family since 1910 and Wally worked it until he retired in 1990. He farmed for over 60 years, raising cattle and hogs and growing corn and soybeans. In 2004, they moved to a condo in Conrad. Wallace was very active in the local American Legion Post #681 and was the Post Commander in 1955 and 1967. He was a member of the Lions Club. He was a life-long member of the Alice Church of God, serving as a Deacon and an Elder during part of that time. He also served as the Church Treasurer for over 20 years. Wally was a member of Farm Bureau and on the Board of Directors for the Conrad Coop. Wally is survived by his wife, Marlyne, a son, Jerry (Dee) Brindle of Marshalltown, IA, a daughter, Julie (Ron) Branan of Belton, MO, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and one foster great grandchild, sisters Frances (Frank) Patterson of Grinnell, IA, and Eleanor (Richard) Stromberg of Guadalajara, Mexico. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clark and Gladys Brindle of Conrad, his sister, Marjorie (Darwin) Vint of Beaman, IA, and his brother, Marvin (Dorothy) Brindle of Conrad.
