John William Knapp, 42, Des Moines, Iowa passed away at home on January 13, 2018. John was a lifelong resident of Des Moines and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1994. He was a self-employed carpenter for most of his life and loved building houses and other things. John loved fishing and was an avid sports fan. He spent many summer vacations with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks, and many family visits in Chicago during his childhood. He followed the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears and enjoyed competing in fantasy football. He loved spending time with his family and friends, in particular his daughter Kyra and his son Ryder. In addition to his children, John is also survived by his father, Gary Knapp, Des Moines; mother, Dawn Pearson Siprut, Scottsdale, AZ; brothers Eric Knapp (Alicia) and Mark Knapp (Christen), Ankeny; his niece and nephew Julia and Andrew Knapp, Des Moines; grandparents, Herb & Jeanne Pearson, Des Moines; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
