Ronald E. Sollenberger

Ronald E. Sollenberger, 77, of Brimfield, passed away at 3:54 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on March 22, 1940, to Robert and Hazel (Burgess) Sollenberger in Elmwood. He married the love of his life, Shirley Slane, on August 20, 1961, at the Brimfield Union Church. She survives. Also surviving are three children, Eric (Laura) Sollenberger of Brimfield, Kurtis Sollenberger of Brimfield, and Rena (Jim) Hill of Brimfield; three sisters, Betty Korth, June Ekena, and Mary Sollenberger Haahn; and ten grandchildren, Jessi, Dylan, Jacob, Ethan, Mason, Jada, David, Isaiah, Caelan, and Mya. He is preceded in death by his parents; three children, Todd, Lyle, and Chad; and twin brother, Robert "Bob" Sollenberger. Ronald worked as a Research Mechanic at Caterpillar, from where he retired after 40 years. He was also a faithful member of the Brimfield Union Church. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Brimfield Union Church.
