Ken was employed by Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge as the bookstore manager for 13 years, after having spent previous years as a representative for publishing companies selling textbooks to public schools. Prior to this, Ken was a Blue Cross Blue Shield representative in Hamilton and Guthrie counties and spent two years with Iowa Farm Bureau. Ken was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He was a member of Iowa Professional Bookmans association, and Diamond K, Kiwanis. Ken had a passion for helping others, demonstrated by many caring actions and friendships especially when he was serving others at Asbury UMC as a volunteer in many church life activities, youth group leadership, Sunday School teacher and confirmation mentor. Ken was a fisherman, outdoorsman and hunter with his dogs Kit and Belle. He excelled at wood carving, freely sharing his many projects with family and friends, which honors his creativity and memory going forward. His family includes his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Jana Warren and husband Bill; son, Jeff Kitterman and fiancé, Carole Bersin; daughter, Jo Schmidt and husband Paul; six grandchildren Laura Dahms and husband Matthew, Sam Kitterman, Jay Warren, Haley Schmidt, Shelby Kitterman, Luke Schmidt; and great grandson, Kip Dahms; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Blanche Carney and his brother, Harry Kitterman. Ken's bright smile and engaging manner with all he met will long be remembered by many.
