BURLESON - Susan L. Dean passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2018.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Susan's name to Fossil Rim Wildlife Center, Allie's Haven Animal Rescue or a charity of your choice.

Susan was born in Shelton, WA to Larry and Lucille Dean on June 2, 1955. She grew up in Shreveport and Houston. She attended The College of William & Mary, earning a bachelor's degree in archeology. She worked as a litigation paralegal with Cantey Hanger LLP in Fort Worth for 36 years. Susan enjoyed volunteer work especially when it involved animals. She spent countless hours rescuing and finding homes for dogs in the North Texas area and beyond. In Nov., 2017 she was featured as Volunteer of the Month for Animal Care and Control. She also enjoyed being involved in the mobile adoption events at PetSmart and Hiley Subaru. She volunteered extensively with Allie's Haven Animal Rescue and helped several other rescue shelters. the homeless and less privileged in the community. Susan was an avid tennis player and served on the "Keep It in The Purple" Committee on behalf of the TCU Men's Tennis team. She loved cross-stitching and learning new crafts such as glass-blowing and open-flame glass working. She loved to read and was interested in everything. Susan had a wonderful sense of humor and a very sweet soul. She loved her family. She was a good sister; a good daughter; a good aunt; a good employee and a good friend to so many. She will be greatly missed.
